The Organizer’s Canvas: Mapping the critical elements for creating change (in different languages)

By ,

A tool that ensures elements of a successful organizing campaign are taken into account for planning: public narrative, relationship building, structure, strategy, and action.

Introduction

Designing an organizing project that is up to the task of creating change takes creativity and good planning. But sometimes it can be a challenge to see all critical parts of a successful project plan alongside each other.

The Leading Change Network LCN is excited to share the Organizer’s Canvas, a visual brainstorming or training tool that ensures that critical elements of a successful organizing campaign are taken account for in your planning: public narrative, relationship building, structure, strategy, and action.

The Canvas was designed by LCN member Ben Huggoson and strengthened further after two online workshops with organizers from the LCN community. If you have feedback on the canvas, feel free to email benedict.hugosson@gmail.com. If you would like to translate the canvas into your language, please contribute here.
